CREATIVE WORK & PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE

Cuban American Gothic (2021, 12:46mins/ 2022, 16:40 mins) Director & Producer of a comic, hybrid documentary about the pandemic, Maggie, and her dead Cuban parents. Made in association with PBS. Co-produced by Maggie Diaz Bofill and Latino Public Broadcasting with additional funding from The Wyncote Foundation and Intar Theatre. Premiered as part of PBS’ “The Latino Experience” in July 2021.The director's cut premiered at the 2022 San Diego Latino Film Festival.

Reclaiming the Past, Constructing our Future: A Collaborative Exploration of the Pennhurst Archive (2021-)  In co-creation with members of the intellectual disability community and other artists, historians, and archivists, we are rediscovering the archives of the now-closed Pennhurst State School and Hospital. The research will inform the creation of an interactive, multimedia “story wall” that will connect historical records to lived experiences of institutionalization. Produced by the Institute on Disabilities, Temple University and funded by The Pew Center for Arts and Heritage.

Discovering the Selinsgrove Center (2017-2018) As a documentarian I engaged in a collaborative project with artists, historians and residents to develop an arts based methodology to illuminate the complex history and lived experience of the institutionalization of people with intellectual disabilities. Produced by the Institute on Disabilities, Temple University and funded by The Pew Center for Arts and Heritage.

Los Trabajadores   Collaborated with a group of Mexican migrant workers in scripting, shooting and editing a video documenting their struggle for better working and living conditions in Kennett Square and Reading, PA.   The video is currently part of the national tour: We Tell: Fifty years of Participatory Community Media. 

Something to Wear   Instructed a group of inner city youth in     scripting, shooting and editing, a video on fashion and social movements.

That Sounds Like Me: Seniors Read Aloud Together   Collaborated with a group of older adults in creating an award winning video about sharing literature aloud.
